Find Out How Pilates Can Get Rid Of Cellulite


The dimple-like appearance of cellulite is caused by pushed extra fats in the dermis area that shows on the
surface of the skin. It is a common problem to most women and it is usually found on the thighs and hips or the areas above the knee.

There are different methods or treatments you could use to trim down the appearances of cellulite. “No More Cellulite” author Wayne Westcott, who is at the same time Quincy’s South Shore YMCA fitness research director, mentioned that the best method to eliminate and get rid of cellulite is the combination of healthy eating and work out. Working out should include a mix ot cardio and strength training at 20 minutes each at least thrice a week, weekly. Strength training includes Pilates exercise.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a technique done with the combination of body fitness exercise and mind. It focuses on inner strength and is also known for placing large accent on the execution of exercises correctly and breathing.

  3.  It increases flexibility.
  4.  It maintains body weight.
  5.  It also aids in the elimination of toxins.

When performing basic Pilates exercise, all you will need is an exercise mat.

Pilates Exercise 1


  • Step 1: Lie on your back using the mat.
  • Step 2: Place your knees on the air. They should be bent above the hips.
  • Step 3: The arms are needed to be kept straight at the side of the body as the palms face down.
  • Step 4: Shoulders are to be raised off the mat as you breathe out.
  • Step 5: Curl your chin toward your chest as you do step 4.
  • Step 6: The arms are to be extended as they are lifted off the mat.
  • Step 7: From bent knees, extend the legs as they are being lowered to the floor.
  • Step 8: Do inhalation while the arms are pumped 5 times, exhale and then pump again for 5 times.
  • Step 9: Do this in 10 breath repetitions or 100 pumps.

Pilates Exercise 2


  • Step 1: Using the mat, lie on your back.
  • Step 2: Place your arms on your side and slowly bend your right leg.
  • Step 3: Point your toes as you extend your left leg toward the ceiling.
  • Step 4: Trace a circle on the ceiling as you breathe in.
  • Step 5: Make a complete five circles clockwise and five circles counter-clockwise.
  • Step 6: After completing, switch legs and do the same procedure with your right leg.

Pilates Exercise 3


  • Step 1: Using the mat, lie on your right side.
  • Step 2: Rest your head in your right hand as you bend your right elbow.
  • Step 3: Bring your legs slightly in front of the body.
  • Step 4: Up to 3 to 4 inches high, lift your left leg.
  • Step 5: With foot flexed, kick your left leg forward and slowly bring it back.
  • Step 6: The foot must be pointed as far as you can before bringing it back and make sure your hips are not swayed by this.
  • Step 7: Make at least 10 repetitions and then switch legs.

These are just three of the Pilates exercises which you may perform to reduce the appearance of cellulite. And in combination with daily Pilates exercise, you should also observe proper diet to obtain more desirable results.
